Gerville Rene Larsen, RA, A.I.A., N.O.M.A
Gerville Rene Larsen is a 6th generation Crucian, born and raised on the island of St. Croix in the U.S.
Virgin Islands. He obtained a Bachelor Degree in Architecture from Cornell University in 1989.
Throughout his career, he has received honors and awards in the fields of art and architecture. Gerville
is the Principal & Owner of TALLER LARJAS, LLC situated in Christiansted, St. Croix. The location
houses his architectural firm as well as his art studio and an innovative fine art gallery.  Gerville is a V.I.
Registered Architect and a member of the American Institute of Architects (A.I.A.) and the National
Organization of Minority Architects (N.O.M.A.). Beyond his creative talents, Gerville has extensive
experience in V.I. Government development and regulatory agencies, having worked as the St. Croix
District Director of Permits for the Department of Planning and Natural Resources. He is also a former
Department of Public Works Architect. Gerville believes in giving back to his community and has
several pursuits, including his strong desire to preserve the unique natural and built environments of
the Territory. On a national scale, Gerville is presently the Virgin Islands Advisor to the National Trust
for Historic Preservation (NTHP) based in Washington, DC, as well as the organization’s Secretary for
the Advisors Executive Committee. He previously served as NTHP’s Southern Region Chair. Locally,
Gerville is a member of the St. Croix Historic Preservation Committee and served as the former Chair
of the St. Croix Landmarks Society.
